Why does having access to ACCESS Newswire as a student matter?

On The Wire’s Mission:

On The Wire is a team dedicated to raising awareness about ACCESS Newswire’s EDU program, encouraging professors to integrate it into their courses so students can deepen their understanding of press release distribution, media pitching and coverage tracking.

As public relations students, we recognize how essential it is to become familiar with the tools used across the industry. Yet many students only learn about these platforms in theory rather than gaining real experience with them.

ACCESS Newswire’s EDU program gives students hands-on opportunities to explore, practice and refine the core skills they’ll need in their PR careers through a modern, industry platform.

What features are available for students to use through ACCESS Newswire?

Students would have access to the following features:

  • Create press releases and receive feedback on them.

  • Build their own media database.

  • Pitch email campaigns through building a contact list.

  • Utilize both media and social monitoring tools.

  • Manage their content within their own media room.

How to get access to ACCESS Newswire

Students are only able to utilize ACCESS Newswire’s EDU Program if their professors signs up. Professors are able to sign up for free by going to ACCESS Newswire’s EDU Program Homepage, and selecting ‘California State University, Long Beach’ as their team affiliation.
