Tina ChanthapanFaculty Advisor
Dr. Worapron (Tina) Worawongs Chanthapan is an educator and communication specialists with experience in the United States and Thailand.
She received her bachelor’s degree in communication and international/intercultural studies from Fordham University, master’s degree in communication from Pepperdine University and her Ph.D. in mass communications from Pennsylvania State University. After completing her doctorate, Chanthapan worked as a Senior Analytic Specialist at PhaseOne Communications, consulting firm in Los Angeles that employs communication approaches to deliver solutions for both the private and public sectors. She then relocated to Bangkok, Thailand and started her academic career. She taught at Stamford International University for 8 years and held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Communication Arts and Design. Later, she joined the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University, a leading institution in Thailand, as a full-time lecturer in their international program. Chanthapan’s research examines how media outlets in different countries present an event or crisis to the audience through the selection of frames; reputation management during a crisis; and also explores the relationship between journalists and public relations practitioners. |
