7 Reasons to Join CSULB PRSSA

If you're thinking about joining PRSSA, here are 7 reasons why you should become a member! 

1. Meet new people 
Mingle with PRSSA members at meetings and events and form new friendships. PRSSA is a great way to meet new people who have the same interests as you. Also, mingle with the E-board members. They're always here to help! 

2. Land an internship! 
If you want to pursue a career in your field you need an internship, right?! PRSSA offers a wide range of internships to students. Students are able to gain PR experience and earn college credit while enrolled in school. 

3. Attend the National Conference 
The PRSSA National Conference takes place in a different city each year, and this year the conference is in Atlanta, Georgia. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet PRSSA members from all over the country, network with PR professionals, and also attend events and workshops. 

4. Discover your career path 
There are different careers to pursue in PR. PRSSA can help students find the type of job they want to pursue whether it's a job in crisis management, entertainment, fashion, social media, sports etc. -- PRSSA will help find the right field for you. 

5. Network with professionals
Come to meetings! We have a guest speakers at meetings who share their experience in the field and always offer advice. Network with them and stay in touch. You never know, there's always an opportunity landing an internship!

6.  Earn scholarships and awards 
PRSSA had college students at free money! PRSSA offers many individual scholarships and awards to acknowledge members' accomplishments. 

7. Be a leader 
Show off your leadership skills! Join PRSSA, get involved, attend events, volunteer and come to meetings. Consider joining the E-board! It will always look good on a resume.
