Her experience and passion for California State University, Long Beach’s (CSULB) Journalism and Public Relations Department, of which she is an alumnus, spurred her to begin teaching there in 2017. With almost two decades of communications, operations and business development experience, Newton knows what it takes to develop a company into an established brand. Her experience and skills include business development, team management, public relations, corporate communications, cause marketing, internal communications, branding, human resources, event planning, blogging, content development, copywriting and more. Her work has spanned industries from automotive to fashion to beauty; with notable clients including Murad Skincare, Michael Stars, Mazda, Nissan, City of Hope, American Cancer Society, Revlon Run/Walk, Hill + Knowlton and Impact Giving. Throughout her career, Newton’s passion has remained the same - to help small businesses and entrepreneurs achieve their business goals through strategic communications. In 2012, Newton decided to leave the corporate world to form her own company, Ideations Communications, with the goal of building a creative and positive work environment focused on helping fellow entrepreneurs succeed. Additionally, Newton is an editor and writer for 908 Magazine and owns 1907 Bridal, a fashion company that rescues, restores and repurposes vintage wedding dresses and accessories for the modern bride. Newton is an alumnus of CSULB where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in psychology (2001). Stefani GreenProfessional AdviserAs an External Communications Manager at Chipotle Mexican Grill, Stefani oversees an integrated communications strategy to bring the brand’s purpose of cultivating a better world to life. In this role Stefani works closely with cross departmental leaders to ensure alignment across channels, driving awareness for Chipotle, the executive leadership team and key brand initiatives.
From travel & tourism to fashion & fitness,consumer products & beauty, Stefani has worked across a variety of industries and high profile brands including Barbie where she spent time in both the PR and Brand Marketing departments. Stefani graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Journalism. Stefani’s undergraduate education experience included being a member of PRSSA and the Bateman Team. Stefani is excited to be the PRSSA Professional Adviser and looks forward to partnering with students as they launch their professional careers to become the future leaders of PR. |
