She is currently a partner in an agency specializing in entertainment and entertainment-based clients, creating and executing campaigns for both corporations and individuals. Prior to that, she held public relations positions at several record companies, including the Island Def Jam Music Group, Virgin Records, Geffen Records and Mercury Records.
Matsumuro holds a master’s degree in communication management from the University of Southern California, where her thesis evaluated the messages of military-issued communication and the impact it had on media coverage. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University with a dual major in public relations and policy studies. While at Syracuse, she was a member of the Policy Studies Honorary, Pi Sigma Sigma, and the Syracuse University women’s honorary society, Eta Pi Upsilon. |
